A SmartTrack is a pre-configured integration solution built on 17 years of experience — it includes standard CRM object mappings, tested workflows, and proven integration patterns that work on day one. It's the fastest path to integration for businesses whose requirements align with standard AR/AP transaction flows.
A Custom Solution is built entirely to your specification — for businesses with unique data structures, non-standard workflows, or requirements that go beyond what a pre-configured track covers. InterWeave provides custom solutions every day, and many SmartTrack customers evolve into custom solutions as their integration needs grow. The two are not mutually exclusive.
SmartTrack editions are pre-configured with standard CRM objects including Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, Orders, Invoices, Products, and Payments. The specific objects and their mapping to financial application records vary by edition — for example, a QuickBooks track maps Accounts to QB Customers and Opportunities to QB Sales Orders, while a Sage Intacct track maps to CUSTOMER and ARINVOICE records.
Every edition also supports custom field mapping beyond the standard configuration — so if your CRM has custom fields that need to map to financial application fields, this is supported within the SmartTrack framework.
For on-premise financial applications, InterWeave uses a lightweight on-premise agent installed on the Windows server or workstation hosting the application. This agent communicates outbound (HTTPS) to the InterWeave cloud — so no inbound firewall rules are required. The agent uses the application's native API (QODBC for QuickBooks Desktop, BOI for Sage 100cloud, ODBC for Sage BusinessWorks) to read and write data.
Once installed and configured, the agent runs as a Windows service and maintains a continuous, encrypted connection to InterWeave's cloud infrastructure — enabling real-time or scheduled data exchange without requiring VPN tunnels or custom network configuration.
The $3,600/year listed for SmartPortal, Payment Processing, and eCommerce represents the base platform subscription cost. In addition to this, there are one-time and ongoing charges for: initial configuration and setup (mapping your specific CRM fields and workflows to the pre-configured template), training for your team and administrators, and ongoing technical support for the integration.
The specific amounts for these additional charges depend on the complexity of your configuration, the number of CRM objects in scope, and the level of support coverage you require. InterWeave provides a detailed scope and estimate as part of the onboarding process before any charges are incurred.
Yes — SmartTracks are designed as a strong, tested starting point, not a rigid constraint. Every edition supports configurable workflows, custom field mappings, and adjustable sync operations. You can configure which direction data flows (CRM to Financial, Financial to CRM, or bidirectional), which objects are included in scope, how binding and deduplication logic works, and how parent-child account hierarchies are handled.
For businesses that need capabilities well beyond the standard template — such as multi-currency, multi-entity routing, complex approval workflows, or industry-specific data models — InterWeave's custom solution practice can extend or replace the SmartTrack with a fully bespoke configuration.
